HDD regenerator does it usually take like over 400 hours?

Hi im triying to fix my HDD with 596 gig Samsung HM64 ising HDD regenerator v2011. I was hoping i had bad sectors because i just bought my laptop and when i do the chkdsk i get alot of unreadable fragments. So im scanning and it moves .1 percent every like 15 to 20 minutes. I want to know if it is normal for this software to scan this slow. Thank you.
